UK Best Videographer The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA)
We did it! We’ve just won UK Best Videographer at The Wedding Industry Awards!
I’m so happy with what we achieved, how we’ve evolved since our first year (2012) and people we met. Last Thursday evening in London’s West End, we were awarded UK Best Videographer at The Wedding Industry awards near Leicester Square. Knowing that we reached this success through the votes of the couples we worked with it all the more meaningful to us.
We’ve tried to shoot through our own perspective. It’s easy to fall into the same template as the bulk of the industry. We have tried to avoid capturing absolutely everything or just provide coverage. To focus on anticipating the moments that matter. To produce our view of the events, watch for the important things. To build toward a story and show through the small moments in the day that visually show emotion. As long as Sarah and I can keep pushing to improve, I think we’ll continue to meet the needs of the couples we shoot for.
It has taken three years to develop enough to win the national. Our first Regional Award came on the first year of entering the TWIA Awards in 2014. Winning within our second year of Business, give us some confidence in our work to push on with our ethos. Going on to win the Regional Award for three successive years has been a rollercoaster! It was so great to take the National Winner Award this year.
London UK & Destination Weddings
Its so good to be working with minded couples, that have been so good to us. Some couples have been good enough as to fly us to beautiful places to shoot for them. These past two years we’ve had some great adventures all over the UK, as well as Destination Wedding Videos in mainland Europe and Worldwide! (well just Mexico). We’ve witnessed so many amazing moments and shot sun rises and sun sets over lots of beautiful vistas. To then Come home and to relive it all, to craft those moments into a natural story. We it has made it even more memorable.
Wedding Videography is constantly changing, and in my experience couples are now more aware of the rewards this craft has to offer. We opened our studio just after the DSLR film revolution, as soon as I saw the images that could be created with the new technology… I was hooked. This year Sarah is joining me full time in the studio, she has become our lead camera on the shoots in 2015 and I’m looking forward to seeing her develop as an editor.
Here’s some images from The Wedding Industry Awards, as with all parties.
Wishing you all a happy and rewarding 2016.
